How many abortions take place per year in the US?
ExpandThe truth is that we do not know. Per the CDC there were 1,038,000 reported abortions in 2024, but there are many states that do not report abortions to the CDC due to their strict pro-abortion privacy laws. These states include California, Maryland, New Hampshire, and New Jersey. Recently, after losing funding, the Planned Parenthood of California made a statement that they “help” over 1,000,000 women per year obtain abortions and that the funding cut would “hurt” more women. That is almost the same number as the CDC claims for the entire United States. This number also does not include the private abortion pill companies that operate via telemedicine. These companies do not even operate legally as they mail pills to states that have bans as well as to minors without parental knowledge. Additionally, this does not include self-induced abortions. The actual number could be well over 3-4 times what the CDC claims. Even with that many abortions, this is only a small percentage of the estimated 73,000,000 abortions in the world per year. That number could easily be doubled if the rest of the world has reporting issues like the United States.
Why is it so hard to find abortion statistics?
ExpandWe think that the truth is that they (the big abortion companies) just do not want the public to know the actual information. Planned Parenthood states that only 4% of their patients are there for abortions. Third party resources have found that the number is closer to 94-96% of patients utilize Planned Parenthood for an abortion. How is there that much discrepancy? This is the same issue that we see with abortion satisfaction. Again, Planned Parenthood states that 95% of women are happy that they got an abortion, while we also find numerous studies showing that around 70% of women did not want the abortion and 25% of those were coerced/forced. The abortion industry does not want information like this to be public as it would impact their business, revenue, and the hard work of Satan.
Is BAMH a Christian ministry?
ExpandYes, our main goal is to bring the women who we serve to the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We do this by facilitating weekly bible study in the home, providing transportation to church, and providing many opportunities for spiritual growth. Of course, our main method of evangelization will be through showing the women that we serve the sacrificial love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
What denomination is BAMH?
ExpandBAMH does not claim any single Christian denomination. We operate under a statement of faith which can be viewed here. In our statement of faith, you will find that while we do not affirm sin, and we believe the bible to be the authoritative word of God, we strongly believe that the issue of abortion transcends our denominational differences. The blood of innocent children waters the ground of our once great nation, fueling the works of the Wicked One and his mission to destroy and desecrate God’s creation. In this, the greatest fight against evil that Christianity has ever faced, disunity amongst denominations is just another tactic of the Devil to weaken our witness for Christ.
How common is the need for maternity housing?
ExpandFar more common than many think. In our current times, housing can be difficult to obtain and afford even for stable working families. Imagine the nearly impossible task of securing housing when you are pregnant and without support. Well just say this; the number of abortion facilities is far more than that of maternity homes.
Does BAMH house women that already have children?
ExpandYes, we will house women with children, but there are limitations. Since BAMH is currently operating under the traditional communal maternity home construct, we cannot house women with children over the age of 6 years old due to the safety concerns of others residing within the home. While we typically will be unable to take mothers that have more than 2 children already in their care (due to space constraints) we will evaluate needs on a case by case basis.
What kind of skills training will BAMH offer its residents?
ExpandIn our program, mothers will learn the necessary life skills to be able to run a functional home. Many women who come through the maternity home have been raised in an underprivileged environment and have not learned basic skills such as cooking, grocery shopping, managing money, and cleaning. This may sound mundane, but it is necessary for tasks like packing lunches, saving money by cooking dinner at home, and maintaining a safe and clean living environment for mother and child. Women will also be enrolled in parenting classes to help them learn what to expect and how to properly handle their child(ren).
How long can women stay at BAMH?
ExpandThe time a woman can stay is determined on a case-by-case basis and is a recommendation made by their case worker. Some women may only need a few months to find a good job and a secure place to live. Others may stay for a few years as they obtain their college degree or work to save money for a secure home. Our goal is to get women back on their feet as soon as possible so that they can provide the best life for themselves and their child.
Can family and friends visit women at BAMH?
ExpandNo. Due to safety concerns and privacy, family and friends cannot visit women within the home. Some of the residents of the home may be hiding from a domestic violence situation and/or have protection orders in place. Therefore, the location of the home is confidential. There will however be time for women to meet with loved ones outside of the home in public areas. This will be discussed during the application process.
Can women that have their child while residing at the home place the child up for adoption?
ExpandYes. While we do greatly encourage motherhood, some women may still make the decision to place their child for adoption. The mother will still be able to stay with us while she prepares to stand on her own two feet again.
